A Journey of Emotions and Inspiration

Immerse Yourself in the Splendor of Carmen Opera!

Sopron is high on everyone’s travel wish list, with its fabulous atmosphere, beautiful architecture, culture and endlessly fascinating history. Once you visited it, you would definitely like to return, but we bet that your first visit will make a memorable experience.

Travel with us, we have a special program for you!

Sopron is not only Hungary’s western gateway, but also one of the country’s most beautiful and atmospheric cities, which shows its visitors a diverse face in every season. As Hungary’s most monument-rich city, it provides many cultural and historical adventures.

Take a walk through the narrow cobbled streets
among the ornate baroque houses!

The city’s Old Town is particularly noteworthy as the visitors can explore the famous sights here like the romantic castle district, the Fire Tower, the iconic Goat Church and the impressive Storno House.

Highlight of our trip: Experience the magic of opera
at St. Margarethen Quarry

Admire the amazing and inspiring St. Margarethen Quarry, Europe’s largest natural stage. The monumental stone walls, special climate and incomparable acoustics impress music connoisseurs and opera fans from all over the world.

Take part in the grand production of Georges Bizet’s Carmen this summer, the great opera performance promises a cathartic experience brought to life by hundreds of performers for the 4,700 spectators sitting under the summer night sky.

Music lovers will be impressed, but we recommend this production even for those who rarely attend operas as it is truly exceptional!

A trip to Sopron is already a beautiful experience, which we can complement with excellent local wines, a unique chocolate tasting, and the discovery of the beautiful Esterházy Palace in Fertőd.

Optional programs:

Visiting the Esterházy Palace in Fertőd

Hungary’s largest baroque palace is also called the “Hungarian Versailles”. In addition to the sights, we also take a mental journey through important historical epochs, cultural curiosities and the eventful life story of family members. The group can get to know the wonderful building of Hungary during a comprehensive guided tour or combine a short visit with a walk through the rose garden of the castle park and a coffee break.

Chocolate – Behind the Scenes

During the city tour in Sopron you can visit the Harrer chocolate workshop and take part in a unique chocolate tasting. You can also discover the mysterious world of chocolate production in a cozy atmosphere.

Wine tasting at Taschner Wine and Sparkling Wine House

At the Taschner Wine House in Sopron you can taste the excellent wines of the region. The well-known winemaker Kurt Taschner runs the family business and cultivates 26 hectares of vineyards with autochthonous Sopron varieties and some specialties such as the rare early red Veltliner. In the modern cellar you can try a great variety of Blaufränkisch wines while the winemaker talks about the wine traditions of the region and gives an insight into the journey of wine from the vine to the bottle.

We hope that we could convince you, because Sopron is a wonderful destination for those who want to discover the rich history and culture of Hungary, taste delicious wines and enjoy the beautiful natural landscape. And the unique concert experience is the icing on the cake!
