Early Autumn Trip to Hungary’s Only Interactive Model Park
Arriving in Szarvas, we head straight to one of the city’s unmissable attractions, the country’s largest arboretum and the famous Mini Hungary Model Park.
Located in a stunning natural setting, the park presents Hungary’s history, traditions and architectural wonders. Witness history comes to life as you admire dozens of Hungarian landmarks and buildings, including the iconic Szeged Cathedral, the majestic Széchenyi Chain Bridge, the ornate Cifrapalota in Kecskemét and the impressive model of Eger Castle. The mini Lake Balaton, or the sailboats and boats floating on the Danube, the small trains rattling up and down the hill and valley, will fascinate visitors of all ages. The attractions of Transylvania, the Highlands, the South and Transcarpathia are also impressive.
Charming Walk in the Largest Arboretum of the Country
Take a pleasant stroll in the neighbouring arboretum. Hungary’s largest arboretum is home to more than 1600 rare plant species. More than 50 blue peacocks and a few special albino peacocks live in the garden which are free to roam among the visitors.
Boating on the Picturesque Water of the Wild Holt-Körös
The one-hour boat trip promises not only a breathtaking encounter with the beauty of nature, but also a unique opportunity for sightseeing. Admire picturesque waterfront sights and charming holiday cottages while being entertained by the humorous anecdotes of our boat captain.
Paddling towards the city centre, you can see the Szarvas Water Theatre and the beautiful marsh cypress trees that have become emblematic of Szarvas. The first specimens were planted on the banks of the estuary by the founder of the arboretum, Count Paul Bolza. From the water you can admire the former castle of Paul Bolza. You can spot kingfishers, marsh turtles, grey herons, great egrets and even swimming otters and beavers on the boat trip.
